  Lesson Objectives To decide whether the globalisation process is a good or a bad thing.  
   
   
 
     
 
  Starter Write down as many benefits and drawbacks of globalisation as you can think of. Use the information you have learnt so far to help you.  
   
   
 
     
 
  Debating task: 'Is globalisation a good thing?'  
  1. Use the worksheet 'Winners and Losers' to fill in ideas in pairs as to whether the people on the sheet benefit from globalisation or not.  
     
  2. In groups of 6 create an argument either for or against globalisation. (Use the ideas from the sheets you have already filled in.)  
     
  3. You are now going to engage in the debate. Remember to listen to each others' ideas, as well as putting forward your own.  
     
 

4. Now you need to produce a piece of work that shows you have understood the arguments.

Choose from the tasks below:

  • produce a report on the debate
  • produce a poster outlining the good and bad points of globalisation

You will be presenting your work to the class at the end of the lesson.
