Objectives
  • To know how to dispose of rubbish hygienically
  • To link these issues with the problems that can occur from poor refuse disposal.
End Product

  • Make a questionnaire that you can give to 3 people to get their opinions and good practice of refuse disposal. You can take this home and get family members to complete them. (approx 10 questions). For homework you can collate this information from your surveys and share your findings with the rest of the class. Graphs would be very cool!!!

Task 11
  • Sort through a selection of “rubbish” from your teacher. (Don’t worry it is clean) to see how much can be recycled.
  • Investigate local council and compare with another area. Do methods of refuse disposal differ? What do they do at home? Create a Powerpoint presentation.
  • In a word document write some questions as part of an interview of a council employee about rubbish and its disposal in and around Maidstone. The best will be judged by your teacher and will be sent off to the council.
