Objectives
  • To be able to explain how to treat food in a way you won’t become ill.
  • To describe the micro-organisms present in food that could make us ill
End Product
  • To hold a discussion with the class and your teacher about how to prevent yourself getting food poisoning.

Task 8
  • Look at a set of pictures of food match them up with where you would store these items at home.
  • With a friend explain to them why they store foods in their chosen locations
  • BBQ
  • In a group of 2/3 people list all the precautions you or your family members take to prevent food poisoning at home.
  • Share ideas with class and share cases of when you may have had food poisoning.
  • Using Publisher or paper create a poster to put up in the school canteen to make staff aware of food hygiene
  • At the end of lesson you will be asked to exhibit your poster and have the class assess your work.
  • Be prepared to discuss as a class if you will do anything different in the kitchen now you are aware of the potential risks.
