End Product
  • Dr Gerry has decided to expand the school so that it can accommodate 5000 pupils, you and your parents are not happy. Write a letter explaining the impact the sudden rise in students will have on the school, including the effects on resources and health and safety.

Task 1
  • Look at the population numbers from different eras and countries then try to give reasons for the differences in population size.
  • Share your ideas with the group so that all the different thoughts can be put into a mind map.
  • Look at the effects the rapid rise in population has had on your surroundings. What are the immediate effects and what are the long term effects? Research how much things have changed and why these changes have occurred.
