- To recap what you learnt last lesson your teacher will hand out some cards with enzymes, where they are found and what they break down. You need to match them up correctly i.e. amylase breaks down CHO and is found in the salivary glands.
- Select one student to spray some deodorant in one corner of the room and then time how long it takes for the student in the furthest corner of the room to smell it.
- Because you cannot see the particles moving through the air when you spray the deodorant your teacher may show you a quick demonstration. If you place a Petri dish half full of water onto OHP and then add a crystal of Potassium Manganate (VII) you will witness what you just experienced with your noses!
- You will now have the opportunity to carry out a practical called ‘A Model Cell’ using visking tubing.
