  • Pupils should analyses the physiological changes their bodies went through and the reasons why it happened

Effect of exercise - Task 12
  • Have a go at rearranging these anagrams of respiration words, play with a friend: Key Stage 4+ Resources\Respiration anagrams.doc
  • In your “breathing” section of work from last lesson write down the exercise you have done in the last 7 days, what was it and how long for. As an Extension: Say how you left before, during and after the exercise.

      Do you consider walking to school exercise, discuss this with a friend.

  • Ask your teacher if you can carry out an investigation where pupils monitor BP, HR, BR, TV, SV etc when at rest and then after exercise such as skipping or bench presses.
  • First of all find out what these abbreviations are and write them in your ‘breathing’ topic
  • Write this investigation up in full. At the end of your write up explain how the changes your body made effected:
  • the rate of carbon dioxide and lactic acid removal
  • increased oxygen and glucose supply
