Open up a Powerpoint document and save it as ‘receptors’.
- Imagine you are on a safari in Africa and then get transported to the alps. How does their body change, how are these changes detected.
- Discuss with your class and your teacher how receptors detecting stimuli in eye and skin send messages to brain in form of nerve impulses. Would the message still get through if you lost a particular nerve?
- Ask your teacher if they can demonstrate an eye dissection, try to locate and label parts. If you are squeamish let the teacher know.
