Objectives
  • To describe the components of the circulatory system

  • To explain what each part of the circulatory system does and link this to its structure. 

End Product
  • Write a story as if you are an erythrocyte and describes its journey around the body. You must include arteries, veins, capillaries, chambers and valves in your story.
Circulatory system - Task 7
  • Draw heart and vessels on a blank diagram of a man using blue for veins, red for arteries. Your teacher should have a copy of this.
  • If you are really brave your teacher will demonstrate a dissection of a heart. See if you can spot the chambers and valves you have just labelled.

  • Now click on ‘heart health profile’ to check the health of YOUR heart
  • If you are feeling especially brainy today you could research the role and location of a pacemaker. It is also useful to know an artificial pacemaker if the natural one fails
