Federation celebrates opening of Fusion Healthy Living Centre

A range of entertainment was provided by New Line Learning Federation staff and students at the official VIP celebration, to mark the opening of Fusion Healthy Living Centre at Park Wood Parade on Wednesday 13 January 2010.

During the arrival of the Mayor and Mayoress of Maidstone - Cllr Peter Parvin and his wife Daphne - guests enjoyed a solo performance by country singer Jayne Skilton, a member of the support team at Cornwallis Academy.

Following the official opening of the centre and presentations, it was the turn of Year 9 BTEC music students from NLL Academy to entertain the audience.

The event closed to sound of Cornwallis Academy teacher Kiran Chauhan singing Indian songs and performing Bollywood dance routines with her daughter and a friend, much to the delight of everyone attending.

Centre Manager for Fusion, Angela Creighton, said: "I thought all of the acts were absolutely fantastic and all very inspiring. It truly made a very memorable afternoon."
