New School Uniform FAQ

We are pleased to announce the launch of the academy’s new school uniform. This will commence at the start of the next academic year (2019/2020).  We are changing the uniform as it will characterise the high standards of education we aim to deliver, and the excellence we aim to achieve in educating pupils from New Line Learning Academy and the surrounding community.

What does this mean?

The new uni-sex uniform applies to current Year 7 & 8 pupils. It will be compulsory to wear the new blazer. The jumper is an optional addition. Please note this does not mean you only need to wear the jumper, blazers must be worn at all times. It’s at teacher’s discretion when the blazer is allowed to be removed.

Current Year 9 & 10 pupils can continue to wear the current uniform and are not expected to wear a blazer. The only exception will be replacement items, such as ties and jumpers will be inline with the new uniform due to the phasing out of current uniform stock.

All students will be required to wear a plain white shirt, therefore, cardigans and blouses are not part of the school uniform. Currently

What is the cost??

The blazer and tie will be gifted to all pupils currently in Year 7 & 8. New pupils starting in September will also receive the blazer and tie as a welcoming gift.

Prices are available as of tomorrow on the Simmonds website.

Where can I purchase?

No change to provider. Only the uniform, which can be found at www.simmonds-ltd.com. Uniform to be purchased online includes blazer, tie, jumper, P.E Kit, all other items of clothing can be purchased elsewhere.

Please be aware that from September delivery of items may take up to ten days.

P.E kit changes

Only new Year 7s will be required to purchase the new P.E kit. However, when replacing items, this will now be replaced with new P.E kit items for all years.

With all the uniform changes there is no change to cost. Items of clothing have significantly increased in quality and will no doubt last longer for the same price as our previous uniform.

When will these changes take place?

Start of the next academic year. September 2019.

Fitting

We have planned fitting sessions in school for all pupils closer to the time to ensure correct sizes are ordered. It is expected pupils will receive their blazer before the summer break.

DO NOT ORDER THE BLAZER OR TIE. THE SCHOOL WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THESE CLOSER TO THE UNIFORM RELEASE DATE.

Optional Jumper

The official school jumper is available online but is not compulsory. The official jumper is the ONLY jumper accepted as part of the new uniform.

We will be holding a gifting day for Years 7 and 8 on Monday, 15 July 2019.  Uniform can be viewed and purchased online at www.simmonds-ltd.com

The new uniform will provide pupils of New Line Learning with their own identity within the local community.
