New Year 7, 8 & 9 Uniform

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please find below expectations with regard to uniform for the new year 7, 8 and 9 pupils.  If you have a child entering into years 10 or 11, you will receive a separate letter as their uniform expectations for September will be different to those in year 7, 8 and 9.

All pupils have now been gifted their school blazer and on their start in September, they will also receive their gifted house tie.

On the first day back and every day that they attend school, we will expect every pupil to be dressed in compliant uniform.  On warmer days, pupils will be expected to wear their blazer but be allowed to take it off.

Girls compliant uniform to be worn every day:

  • Trousers - should be black, plain and free from embellishment (no leggings, jeggings, jeans, back pockets, additional poppers, buttons etc)
  • Or Skirt- plain black, box pleat and to be worn no higher than just above the knee
  • Shirt- plain white. Short/long sleeve
  • House tie
  • New Line Learning School blazer
  • Black or flesh colours tights, short/long- white or black socks
  • Plain black school shoes
  • Green PE short/long sleeve top
  • Dark joggers, skorts, shorts or sports leggings

Boys compliant uniform to be worn every day:

  • Trousers- should be black, plain and free from embellishment (no jeans or chino styles, additional poppers, buttons etc)

  • White or black socks
  • Plain black school shoes
  • Green PE short/long sleeve top
  • Dark joggers, shorts

Pupils may choose to wear the new black, optional jumper in addition to their blazer but not instead of.

One small stud may be worn in each ear, no additional jewellery may be worn other than a watch.

Haircuts and colour should be of a natural style, extremes styles will not be acceptable.  Painted or false nails and false eyelashes are not acceptable.

We advise that plain black trainers are purchased for PE, as these will be the only trainers acceptable for a short time alternative to school shoe in an emergency, and when a note is provided.

All pupils are also expected to bring a bag each day that is big enough to hold A4 exercise books, pencil case with appropriate equipment and the pupil 360 (we will provide the 360 on the first day).

If you need to make any uniform purchases, please be advised that the Uniform shop at New Line Learning will be open from 31 July until 2 August, 29 and 30 August and 1 and 2 September from 9.00am until 3.00pm and will take cash or cheque payments.  Online orders can be placed via www.simmonds-ltd.comas soon as possible to ensure your child is fully prepared for the start of term.  Simmons now have a shop at Eldon Way, Paddock Wood, open on Monday – Saturday, 9.30am until 5.30pm.

If your child is returning rather than joining new to New Line Learning, please do not allow them to come to school in the old uniform, this will not be acceptable.

We are very excited to see three whole year groups wearing the new uniform in September and are certain that they will look incredibly smart.  Thank you in advance for supporting our pupils preparing themselves for a fantastic 2019/20 by being ‘READY’ to learn.

Yours sincerely,

Ms Mackie
