New Year 10 & 11 Uniform

Dear Parents/Carers

Please find below expectations with regard to uniform for the new year 10 and 11 pupils.  If you have a child entering into years 7, 8 or 9, you will receive a separate letter, as their uniform expectations for September will be different to those in year 10 and 11.

On the first day back, and every day that they attend school, we will expect every pupil to be dressed in compliant uniform.

Girls compliant uniform to be worn every day:

  • Trousers - should be black, plain and free from embellishment (no leggings, jeggings, jeans, back pockets, additional poppers, buttons etc)
  • Or Skirt- plain black, box pleat and to be worn no higher than just above the knee
  • Shirt- plain white, short/long sleeve or the school logo blouse
  • School tie
  • Black or flesh colours tights, short/long- white or black socks
  • Plain black school shoes
  • Purple PE short/long sleeve top
  • Dark jogging bottoms, skirts, shorts or sports leggings

Boys compliant uniform to be worn every day:

  • Trousers - should be black, plain and free from embellishment (no jeans or chino styles, additional poppers, buttons etc)
  • Shirt- plain white, short/long sleeve

Pupils may choose to wear the black school jumper, cardigan or tank top.  We advise that plain black trainers are purchased for PE, these will be the only trainers acceptable for a short time alternative to school shoe in an emergency, and when a note is provided.

One small stud may be worn in each ear, no additional jewellery may be worn other than a watch.

Haircuts and colour should be of a natural style, extremes styles will not be acceptable. Painted or false nails and false eyelashes are not acceptable.

All pupils are also expected to bring a bag each day, that is big enough to hold A4 exercise books, pencil case with appropriate equipment and the pupil 360 (we will provide the 360 on the first day).

If you need to make any uniform purchases, please be advised that the Uniform shop at New Line Learning will be open from 31 July until 2 August, 29 and 30 August and 1 and 2 September from 9.00am until 3.00pm and will take cash and cheque payments.  Online orders can be placed via www.simmonds-ltd.com as soon as possible, to ensure your child is fully prepared for the start of term.  Simmons now have a shop in Eldon Way, Paddock Wood, open on Monday – Saturday, 9.30am until 5.30pm.

If your child is returning rather than joining new to New Line Learning, please do not allow them to come to school in the old uniform, this will not be acceptable.

Thank you in advance for supporting our pupils preparing themselves for a fantastic 2019/20 by being ‘READY’ to learn.

Yours sincerely,

Ms Mackie
