Arts and Culture Exhibition VWEX
Through a five-day schedule of interactive webinars and group sessions, we will support you to design an (imaginary) exhibition. Over the week you will work through the planning stages to curate an exhibition which celebrates Somers Town History of activism and community action.
You will use your imaginations to dream up an exhibition inspired by Somers Town’s history. This is a place where world-changing ideas of social reform and justice took root: the ideas of Mary Wollstonecraft, George Padmore; Basil Jellicoe and Elizabeth Garrett Anderson still have resonance today for women’s rights; Black history; and medicine.
This work experience includes creative thinking and more practical planning and logistics, and will rely on group work and collaboration. The week will also include communication workshops.
No experience is necessary, just open-minds, big imaginations and a willingness to collaborate with others.
Session highlights include:
Workshops with a selection of professionals with real life experience of designing fantastic exhibitions and cultural events
Local history on Camden activists and heroes
Marketing and Communication workshop with experts
This Virtual Work Experience is a partnership between Somers Town History Space, Regent`s Place and the Knowledge Quarter.
