Welcome to New Line Learning Academy’s Primary Outreach page. Here, you will find information about upcoming events and programmes, such as workshops and open evenings, which have been tailored specifically for primary school children and their families.
Making the transition from Year 6 to secondary education is an exciting time but we understand it can also be an overwhelming experience. To help make the process as smooth as possible, we have a programme of events that we run each year, starting with a visit to all of our new students in the summer term of Year 6. We run a Transition Day at the end of the academic year, where all prospective students come to the academy to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings, integrate with their classmates and meet their teachers.
In addition to this, all new students are invited to take part in Easter and Summer Schools that involves a range of fun, confidence-building activities to help them ease into the transition, form new friendships and create valuable relationships with staff. For some students the transition to secondary school can be stressful and we also run extra transition events within the academy to ease the transition process for them.
At the start of Year 7, students are organised into wellbeing groups that provide them with a sense of belonging and care. The groups come together each day for registration and to explore the Wellbeing curriculum, which covers topics relating to citizenship and health. There are also opportunities to compete in inter-form competitions.
We look forward to welcoming you to New Line Learning Academy in the near future.
