New Line Learning Academy are hosting a couple of events dedicated to promoting mental health awareness amongst its staff.

A cake sale on Thursday and a quiz night on Friday have been organised by staff to raise money for the mental health charity Mind, who help and support people experiencing a mental health problem.

With 1 in 4 people said to experience a mental health problem each year and an increase in school children struggling to cope with their mental health, it is becoming more important for staff at schools to understand mental health and the different ways it affects people.

Rachel Hills, who has helped to organise the events, said: “It’s great to see everyone so excited to support mental health and the Mind charity. I feel that these events are going to really promote mental health awareness around the school and amongst the staff”.

“We have had a large number of teams sign up for the quiz night with an amazing amount of prizes to be won in the raffle. I would like to thank everyone who has donated and supported the event”.

There are multiple ways you can support Mind, all of which can be found on their website: https://www.mind.org.uk/get-involved/.
