Light Up Maidstone Workshop

New Line Learning Academy is thrilled to be partnering with Light Up Maidstone this year and will be proudly taking part in the lantern parade on Friday 6th January. In preparation for this exciting community event, thirty of our Year 9 students had the unique opportunity to work with two local artists on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th January.

Over the two days, students handcrafted a life-size spring tree adorned with delicate blossom lanterns, bringing creativity, teamwork, and festive spirit to life. The project gave students hands-on experience in arts and crafts, while allowing them to contribute something truly special to the parade. Their dedication and imagination were evident in every blossom lantern, each carefully made and attached to the tree.

The event promises to be a spectacular celebration of light and community, with music, performances, and dazzling displays lighting up Maidstone town centre. New Line Learning Academy is delighted to be part of such a vibrant and inclusive festival, and we hope to see many families joining us to celebrate and cheer on our students during the parade. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase student creativity and be part of a memorable town-wide event.
