The History curriculum at New Line Learning Academy develops curious, analytical and reflective learners by exploring how people, societies and civilisations have shaped the modern world. Through a broad and carefully sequenced curriculum, students investigate significant events, individuals and turning points while developing their understanding of change, continuity, cause, consequence and historical significance.

Students learn to evaluate evidence, consider different interpretations and construct well-reasoned arguments using historical knowledge. At Key Stage 4, students can choose to study GCSE History, while students following our Ambition Pathway also have the opportunity to study GCSE Ancient History, broadening their understanding of the classical world and its lasting influence on modern society.
