Think Forward
At New Line Learning Academy, we are proud to work alongside ThinkForward, an inspiring charity dedicated to helping young people build confidence, unlock their potential, and prepare for successful futures. Through their exciting and highly personalised FutureMe programme, students are supported every step of the way as they begin thinking about life beyond school and the opportunities ahead of them.
Our dedicated ThinkForward coach, Mark, is based within the academy and works closely with selected students from the beginning of Year 9 right through to the end of Year 13. Through one-to-one coaching, students are encouraged to overcome challenges, develop resilience, and gain the confidence, independence, and employability skills needed to thrive in adult life and the world of work.
The FutureMe programme gives students access to a huge range of exciting experiences and opportunities. Pupils take part in inspiring trips and activities, meet employers and professionals from a variety of industries, receive career advice from mentors, and explore different pathways for their futures. Through partnerships with local and national businesses, students gain valuable real-world insight into careers and workplaces, both in person and online.
Students also receive practical support with important next steps such as creating CVs, preparing for interviews, securing work experience placements, and completing college or job applications. The programme helps young people to identify their ambitions, understand their strengths, and believe in their ability to achieve their goals.
One of the most valuable aspects of FutureMe is the strong relationships students build with their coach. With only 50 students supported in each school, young people receive personalised guidance and ongoing encouragement throughout some of the most important years of their lives.
ThinkForward currently supports around 800 young people across Kent, London, and Nottingham, and the impact of the programme is exceptional — with over 80% of students progressing into employment, education, or training by the end of Year 13.
The FutureMe programme is a hugely important part of our commitment to personal development, aspiration, and preparing students for successful futures. It empowers young people to dream big, develop essential life skills, and take confident steps towards achieving their ambitions.
