Science In Action For British Science Week
British Science Week has brought an exciting buzz of curiosity and creativity to the school, with students taking part in a range of hands-on activities designed to celebrate the wonder of science. Each lunchtime has featured a different challenge for students to enjoy.
On Monday, students put their teamwork skills to the test with a collaborative drawing activity, showing how communication and observation are key scientific skills.
Tuesday saw plenty of messy fun as students experimented with oobleck, exploring the strange properties of non-Newtonian fluids.
On Wednesday, students tested their reaction times, discovering how the brain and body work together. Thursday’s activity launched learning skyward as students designed and made their own rockets, while Friday finished the week with electrifying experiments exploring static electricity.
Alongside the activities, students can also enter two exciting competitions: the Year 7–9 Home Science Experiment Challenge and the Year 10–11 Scientist Tribute Competition. We look forward to seeing their creativity and scientific thinking on display!
