Head Students
Student leadership is a powerful part of personal development at New Line Learning, giving young people the opportunity to build confidence, resilience, communication skills and a sense of responsibility. Through leadership roles, students learn how to represent others, work collaboratively and make a positive impact within their school community.
Our student leaders also play an important role in shaping and improving our school life. By championing wellbeing, supporting learning, promoting inclusion and celebrating achievement, our student leadership teams help ensure that student voice is heard and valued. From our Head Students and Senior Prefect Team to our ambassadors, form captains and vice captains, leadership exists at every level of our school, helping to create a culture where everyone can thrive.

Leadership training
At New Line Learning, we understand that leadership is a skill to be developed, and we are committed to providing all students with opportunities to grow as leaders. Through a structured programme of training, mentoring and practical experience, students are supported to develop the confidence, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills that underpin effective leadership.
From leadership workshops and ambassador training to nationally recognised programmes such as the Diana Award Anti-Bullying Ambassador Scheme and Kidscape Peer Mentoring, our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to make a meaningful difference. By investing in student leadership, we empower young people to lead with integrity, serve their community and create positive change both within school and beyond.
The jewel in our leadership development programme is our annual Student Leadership Conference, which brings together student leaders from across all schools within the Trust. Delivered in partnership with leadership experts from the SSAT, this full-day event provides students with the opportunity to develop advanced leadership skills, collaborate with peers from different schools and explore how young people can influence positive change within their communities.
Through workshops, keynote sessions and collaborative activities, students gain valuable insights into effective leadership, communication and teamwork while building networks with fellow student leaders. The conference is an inspiring experience that challenges students to think ambitiously, lead confidently and return to school equipped with new ideas to drive improvement and make a lasting impact.
